Teacher Tribute Honoreestribute cup

Mr. & Mrs. Joe and Sheri Lindbloom-Oak Forest High School-Chemisty and English Literature

Of all the teachers I've ever had you two always come up as the most memorable and best. If there was a Golden Apple Award when I was in high school you both deserved it. You clearly loved what you were doing. You always had fun, which meant (most of the time) we did too. But more importantly you treated us like adults, not kids. You respected your students. Which is why we respected you back. It's taken 23 years to let you know what a difference you both made in at least one student's high school career. I imagine I'm not the only one. Thank you. Sincerely,

Eric Wilson

"It's a beautiful day to be alive!" are the words you have been singing every school morning for 25 plus years. The joy of learning you invigorate in your students and the engagement of the parents in their children's learning continues to amaze me. Thank you for providing your incredible insights into what young children everywhere need to learn to develop into successful human beings. The children in the Rift Valley Children's Village in Tanzania loved the book exchange they did with the children of Discovery Preschool. The learning tools and books donated by you and Discovery Preschool families filled their little classroom with much joy. Your legacy knows no bounds!

Mrs. Ashlie McCauley-Belvidere North High School
10th & 11th Grade English
"Thank you for being the best that you can be! Last year was your first year teaching, and no matter how hard the material, you made it a fun learning experience. The techniques and challenges you used to teach us (students) made Social Studies easy to understand, interesting, and fun to learn. You are truly my favorite teacher."

Mrs. Jeannie Hannigan-Seth Whitman Elementary School-Belvidere
3rd Grade
"Mrs. Hannigan, My son and I moved to the Belvidere area in November of 2005 where you were my son's first teacher at Lincoln Elementary School (4th grade). We had moved to Belvidere from a very small community, where the school Thomas attended was K-8 and consisted of 125 students (total). Your spirit and dedication as a teacher made our move an easy transition. Therefore, I am writing this tribute to you, to thank you for assisting us, or more importantly, Thomas, in feeling welcome in the Belvidere school district and in this community. You are truly an asset to your students, the district, and parents. Teachers like you make it possible for our children to succeed and excel in their academics. Thank you."
