Apply now for 2026-2027 classroom grants!
| PreK-12th grade teachers in Winnebago and Boone County schools are invited to apply for Golden Apple Foundation grants now. These grants are awarded to enhance the classroom experience with resources typically not funded through school budgets. Golden Apple will again be disbursing funds earlier in the school year than in past years so teachers have more time to put their resources to use.
Since 1997, Golden Apple Foundation has distributed grants to classroom teachers on an annual basis. The educational experience of thousands of students has been augmented by more than $341,000 through this program. The Golden Apple Foundation Grants Program affords teachers the opportunity to develop and implement creative educational projects with materials to expand and add to the curriculum for the benefit of students. Grant sponsors include Collins Aerospace, Meg & Rob Hodge, the Blazer Foundation and Jack Baumann Memorial. Simple grants are available for up to $450. Large grants are available for up to $1,500 for a single classroom project or $2,500 for a school-wide, multi-classroom project. Grant applications should focus on special education, literacy, STEM, social and emotional learning (SEL), early education or arts, or on resources for a specific instructional unit. The Golden Apple grant committee reviews all applications to consider such factors as how many students will benefit, how they will benefit and how great the need is. Recipients will be notified by Oct. 12 if selected. Recipients must submit a follow-up form regarding the project’s success to the organization. Photos are encouraged. Grant applications must be received by the Golden Apple Foundation office, 5301 E. State St., Suite 114, Rockford, IL 61108, no later than Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026. The grant application and details are available here: www.goldenappleofrockford.com/classroom-grants. Email info@goldenappleofrockford.com with your application or for more information. |
