Class of 2026 Inducted into the Teacher Academy

Last night, we officially inducted the six newest Golden Apple teacher award recipients into the Golden Apple Teacher Academy. These six new members join a group of outstanding local educators who demonstrate the highest standards of the teaching profession. Each new member received his/her Golden Apple pin. The custom of presenting an apple to a teacher is a simple gesture that has long demonstrated appreciation for the learning provided by the teacher’s efforts. As students apply what they have learned, they, in turn, become the “fruit” of the teacher’s labor. Today, the apple given to educators symbolizes and acknowledges the importance of teacher in the lives of students and the difference they make.

If you heard these teachers give their speeches at the Golden Apple Banquet, you know they share a dedication to their students, colleagues and schools. Each described the determination to be the best educator he/she could be. It is with great pride and respect that we inducted them into the Academy with the help and support of Academy members from the Classes of 2002, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2024. Congratulations to the Class of 2026 and to the other Academy members who won raffle prizes. Great brainstorming session, too!
