This summer, Golden Apple Foundation held Raise a Glass for Teachers guest bartender events at Jax Pub in Rockford and Coaches Corner in Belvidere to raise money for programs and services. Teams from RPS205 and Hononegah Nations competed for tips at Jax Pub on July 12, with more tips coming in through guest paying for bartenders to wear a dunce cap during the night! On July 26, teams from Harlem CUSD122 and Belvidere CUSD100 competed at Coaches Corner in Belvidere, where the bartenders also participated in such games as blindfolded Make a Bloody Mary blindfolded Perfect Pour and Dizzy Relay Race with a tray of drinks. The Dunce Cap also made its rounds. We sold several Rockford CityTins at each event as well. Thanks to all who took the time to bartend and all who came out to participate in these FUNdraisers!
